Pastor James Conley from Delta First Baptist Church came by the studios the other day and we discussed all the recent repairs we have been up to at both our frequencies in Delta. He had noticed we had been off the air on 94.5 FM in Delta…and I related to him it was one of “those” weekends for our poor equipment. Not only did our AM 1400 Delta transmitter go down causing us to make a very expensive replacement only weeks before, but our FM transmitter in Delta went down at the same time as our Montrose 91.9FM transmitter, and only hours after our whole network went down across the Western Slope! Even our engineer, who is not a believer, was commenting how extremely abnormal this all is (she had to decide which emergency to head to first lol)!
I told Pastor James that we don’t think it’s a coincidence; not many things are in the life of the believer. We do believe we are truly fighting a spiritual battle…and are consoled we are considered a threat to the opposing side!
Please pray for protection over the KJOL equipment, and that the evil one will not prevail.
So where do all these repairs sit now? Even though transmitters are essential equipment to operate, and both Delta and Montrose transmitters were not reparable on site, we were able to utilize back-ups from another radio station to get us broadcasting again on both 91.9 and 94.5. We have discovered our 94.5 transmitter is repairable for a better price than buying new, so we are proceeding with that repair.
Our Montrose transmitter is however totaled, and cannot be repaired. So we are in the process of likely buying a new transmitter for 91.9 FM for a cost of roughly $4,000. This comes after buying the 1400AM transmitter, which cost about four times that amount. We also have a small parts replacement in our studios coming as well. So we wait on God…He provided for the AM transmitter, and we believe He will provide for the FM transmitter in Montrose. In the meantime, you shouldn’t hear much interruption on either one of those signals for a while.
Please pray that God will provide the funding for transmitter repairs and the purchase.
I am reminded that during those times when everything is melting down around us, that God is still there and He is working behind the scenes. A couple verses I have clung closely to for the last months, is Psalm 27:13-14.
“I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.”
