FRIDAY, JULY 8
The Young Escape is an “alternative electronic pop band” from southern California composed of siblings Ryan, McKenna, Kyrsten, and Luke Johns.
Austin French grew up in Georgia and became a full-time worship pastor. In 2014, he was runner-up on the ABC show “Rising Star.” He then was signed with Fair Trade Records, home to the Newsboys, MercyMe, and Laura Story.
Mac Powell grew up in Alabama and Georgia. In 1991, he founded the group Third Day while he and his friend Mark Lee were still in high school. Third Day retired in 2018 and played their farewell concert at Red Rocks on June 27, 2018. Powell now records as a solo artist.
Danny Gokey grew up in Milwaukee. He was the third place finalist on American Idol in 2009 (the same season that Shae Wilbur was also a finalist). Formerly, he had been a worship director and over-the-road truck driver.
David Crowder grew up in Texas. In 1996 he formed the David Crowder Band. It was disbanded in 2012, and he has performed solo since then as simply “Crowder.”
NOTE: Matthew West was added to the Friday lineup at the last minute.
SATURDAY, JULY 9
Social Club Misfits is a Christian hip hop duo from Miami, made up of rappers FERN and Marty Mar.
I Am They began in 2008 as the band that led worship gatherings at Calvary Chapel Carson City, Nevada. In 2009, they received a recording contract and adopted the name “I Am They,” inspired by John 17, where Jesus prayed for the disciples (who were “they”).
We Are Messengers is a band led by Darren Mulligan of Ireland. It began as a secular rock band but then Mulligan began drinking and quit the band. His wife Heidi became a Christian and Mulligan went to church with her, where he surrendered to Christ. They now live in Nashville with their 2 kids.
Cory Asbury grew up in North Carolina. In 2005 he began a seven year stay at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City. Eventually he spent time as a worship leader at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. He is currently worship leader at Radiant Church in Michigan.
Jeremy Camp grew up in Indiana where his father was (and still is) pastor at Harvest Chapel. Jeremy attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in California and released his first album in 2000. Since then he has had 32 No. 1 hits on Christian radio. In 2020, the movie “I Still Believe” was released, telling the story of Camp and his first wife, Melissa, who died of cancer three months after they were married.
